On the 5th July 2018, Cast CEO Mark Farmer joined the speaker panel at a packed Movers & Shakers breakfast at The Dorchester to talk about the role of modular homes in solving our housing crisis.
Mark was joined by a heavyweight list of speakers including Sir Edward Lister from Homes England, Karl Whiteman from Berkeley Group, Rosie Toogood of L&G Modular Homes and Simon Gawthorpe of Urban Splash.
The panel covered a lot of ground and discussed many of the barriers and opportunities related to larger scale take-up of modular housing. Extensive questioning from the audience confirmed that better awareness and education of the wider industry on offsite manufacturing is needed to ensure developers, banks and designers understand how to appropriately engage with the opportunity.
