Mark is CEO and a Founding Director of Cast. He has over 30 years experience in construction and real estate and is a recognised international commentator on a variety of industry and policy related issues. Mark authored the Farmer Review, an influential 2016 independent government review of the UK’s construction labour model entitled ‘Modernise or Die’. In 2019 he was appointed as the government’s Champion for Modern Methods of Construction in Housebuilding. Mark served on the Construction Leadership Senior Advisors Group from 2020 to 2023 and was an advisory board member of the Construction Scotland Innovation Centre from 2018 to 2023. Mark is a national co-chair of Constructing Excellence, a technical advisor to Homes England, the chair of the West Midlands Combined Authority Future Homes Taskforce and is a trustee of the MOBIE educational charity. Mark is an honorary professor at The University of Salford’s School of Built Environment and holds honorary doctorates from the University College of Estate Management and the University of Wolverhampton. Mark was recipient of the CIOB President’s Award in 2021 in recognition of his work driving long term change into the construction industry.
Keith is Chairman and a Founding Director of Cast. He provides hands-on project management & leadership to Cast’s clients and their projects.
Keith is an expert in the leadership and management of residential developments across a wide range of tenure models. Keith has developed a detailed understanding of value, design, cost, delivery and operational drivers of residential development and management.
Keith is a passionate advocate of using benchmarking and design efficiency to inform project design and delivery structures to deliver better outcomes for clients. Keith has led the creation of a number of tools and systems that apply the innovative use of digital technology to provide powerful, data-led insights to help client make better informed decisions.
Keith is a champion of the need for the industry to embrace the Environmental & Social Governance challenge and the opportunities presented by Modern Methods of Construction (MMC) to drive better performance and greater predictability of outcomes. Keith provides strategic thought leadership, challenge, creativity and strong collaborative leadership. Keith regularly contributes to industry events publication and promotions. As Chairman of Cast, Keith is responsible for ensuring that Cast are recognised by our clients as the best in the market.
Joe is a Founding Director of Cast and Chief Innovation Officer. He has over 20 years-experience delivering cost and project management services across a range of sectors before specialising in residential where he now leads delivery across a range of client portfolios. Joe’s focus on innovation has contributed to the development of a range of unique MMC strategies and solutions for our clients across a variety of projects including the development of our Construction Integration and MMC Advisory propositions. Joe works with clients, manufacturers, technology companies and materials supplier organisations to develop bespoke strategic and technical solutions. His experience enables him to develop the optimum solution for projects ranging from the innovative procurement of largely traditional construction through to the complete re-engineering of processes to accommodate innovate MMC solutions. As the industry continues to evolve, he is working with a range of technology businesses to explore the digitalisation of the construction industry and how software can augment the continuing evolution of our core professional services. Joe’s focus on innovation has led to the development of several industry leading solutions such as the PMV Estimator, an automated 2D take off solution, a modular system configuration software platform and the evolution of a number of MMC Category 1 MMC system designs and business models.
Neil is a Founding Director of Cast and Chief Financial Officer. Neil has 20-years’ experience within the Construction Industry and has worked with many leading developers, housebuilders and contractors in the residential market. Neil has delivered many completed schemes through his career – including major urban regeneration, strategic land, build to rent, later living, student accommodation, for-sale residential, commercial offices and listed buildings. He has personal involvement throughout our portfolio of projects including leading on feasibility & viability setting, establishing core strategy, vetting cost outputs, leading procurement, contract negotiation and service quality assurance. Neil wants to positively influence those with whom he directly works as well as driving wider change in the construction industry. He wants to address the key issues regarding sustainability and the fitness for purpose of our housing model, helping to create dwellings that people aspire to live in. Neil enjoys working with people with a shared vision to challenge the status quo, be that through product development, R&D, Design for Manufacture & Assembly (DfMA), Modern Methods of Construction or carbon led design. Neil has presented at numerous industry seminars relating to residential and construction markets and has acted as an Expert Witness as part of successful evidence submissions in formal hearings.
Lilly is Director and a Cast Board member. She has 20 years experience in project management with particular expertise in the high quality residential and later living sectors. Lilly provides strategic advice and insight across the project lifecycle from acquisition through briefing, planning, design, procurement, construction and handover and has helped multiple clients define and implement their operational development control processes. She is also interested in how procurement improvement through equitable risk sharing and collaborative forms of contract can support wider industry innovation. She is responsible for implementing and sustaining best in class operational and service practices for the Cast business with a focus on efficiency and effectiveness.
Anthony is an Associate Director in the Construction Integration Team, with a focus on Design and Project Management of MMC Projects. He spent 15 years in Architectural Practice before taking on Technical Management roles with Main Contractors and Developers. Throughout his career he has worked with a broad variety of MMC across all categories including bathroom pods, pre-manufactured facades and fully volumetric houses and apartments. Anthony is keen to use his experience of the many different MMC manufacturers he has worked with to improve quality of new homes being delivered across the country. Anthony is a key member of the Construction Integration Team, working together to develop our MMC service offering to best match our Clients needs.
Anusha is a Senior Project Manager. She has over 10 years’ experience working in the construction management of projects for mixed-use, residential and commercial schemes in both the UK and South East Asia and working for both consultancies and contractors. Her engineering training has equipped her with a critical understanding of the complex and technical aspects of the construction industry. Anusha brings a significant level of personal commitment both to the projects she works on and the clients she works for with her application and attention to detail contributes to the success of projects. With her interest in future sustainability and innovation, Anusha is excited to see how this can shape the construction industry. She also believes that the construction industry is a platform that can be used to promote social value. Anusha was a recent finalist in the WICE Project Manager of the Year awards, recognising her achievements in mentoring and leadership.
Austin is an Assistant Project Manager. He is currently working across a range of Later Living projects. He is a Property Development and Planning graduate and is aspiring to become a RICS qualified chartered surveyor. Austin also wants to expand his understanding and experience of the seven MMC categories and how they are factored into his clients’ ESG aspirations.
Barney is a Senior Project Manager. He has had the benefit of both client side and consultancy experience. Having spent 7 years working on a variety of residential and mixed use developments within the affordable housing sector, Barney has built extensive knowledge of contract management and practice as part of his focus on project delivery. His involvement in the residential sector has extended to both later living and build to rent projects. Barney has a keen interest in design, cost and risk management whilst also relishing undertaking complex technical due diligence exercises on behalf of clients. He is passionate about promoting change within the construction industry through the utilisation of innovative technologies and offsite construction solutions and hopes this will create better outcomes for clients and drive quality standards across the sector. Barney is a member of the RICS.
Ben is a Senior Engineering Services Cost Consultant. He is an experienced cost manager with 9 years of experience in residential, education and mixed-use commercial projects. Ben is also a fully qualified member of the RICS. Ben is the business’s MEPH leader who manages the team while helping deliver our key projects. He has been involved in the development of Cast’s benchmarking and automated measurement software working closely with colleagues. Ben has also been involved with MMC and is engaged with contractors and designers on the very latest innovations in the industry and understanding how they drive better engineering services delivery.
Brigid is an Associate Director. She is has more than 16 years’ experience as working primarily within the residential sector and mixed use developments (includes healthcare, libraries, retail, early years facilities, commercial and urban regeneration schemes). Brigid has extensive experience having worked on a wide range of projects providing Cost Consultancy, Employer’s Agent and Contract Administration services and is experienced in providing procurement, delivery and contract strategy advice on various projects and programmes, with a specialism in the delivery of large strategic masterplan development. She is highly skilled in both pre and post contract service delivery with a pro-active approach to cost management to deliver successful outcomes for clients.
Cameron is a Senior Project Manager. His expertise lay within his adept ability to navigate challenges, manage personnel and execute tasks methodically. He has an initial background in the demolition and civils industry, and since joining Cast he has successfully project managed numerous multi-million-pound developments across various stages of project delivery. He enjoys undertaking innovative, forward-thinking and niche market developments. Whilst undertaking his day-to-day management of projects, Cameron also undertook the lead project management role of the, post Covid-19, reconfiguration of the Cast Office to accommodate the new work environment.
Charlie is a Senior Cost Consultant. He has 10 years’ experience in the industry spanning both general building and specialist engineering services cost management during this time. He has worked across many sectors but has focussed on the Residential sector. Charlie is honing his skills further within the Build to Rent Residential market and hopes to lead a team in the future, working across key client portfolios, developing key insights and in-depth knowledge to assist the procurement of their schemes to provide better outturn costs. Charlie has undertaken specialist MEP engineering services research and prepared reports on various innovative products in the market that ‘challenge the norm’. He has recently been focused on benchmarking linked to Build to Rent amenity spaces.
Chinesh is a Senior Cost Consultant. He has a varied portfolio of project experience across the residential sector. Chinesh has particular expertise in pre-construction commercial management and works within project teams to build strong working relationships and achieve the best outcomes for clients. Chinesh is currently pursuing his professional RICS qualifications. As part of Cast’s Knowledge Champion initiative, Chinesh leads our market intelligence and benchmarking work on structural frames.
Chris is an Associate Director. He has a specific focus within project management and construction integration. Chris originally studied Architecture and then gained invaluable experience in the residential sector, working as lead on various types of residential projects, both client and contractor side. Chris has an in-depth knowledge of design, construction methodologies, construction logistics and master as well as detailed programming. His expertise drives real value from early involvement with design teams and the supply chain through to the management of delivery and completion of construction works which he excited to apply to Cast’s construction integration offer, with the management of modular construction methods to provide better programme and cost certainty for all project stakeholders. Chris is a creative and practically minded individual with a hands-on approach to project delivery, and always looking for ways to drive efficiency both in projects for our clients, and the way in which we execute them within Cast. Chris is currently exploring ways of using technology to drive efficiency in the way we deliver our project management and construction integration services.
Danny is a Director in the Cost Consultancy team. He has 15 years of experience working across specialist sub-contract, developer client and consultancy sectors. He has developed an extensive understanding of the residential sector and has a deep understanding of how the industry works from tradesperson level through to end clients and funders. He has an extensive knowledge of construction methods including MMC techniques which he uses to help drive value by working closely with the supply chain and design teams at the early stages of a project. He has a keen interest in improving how we procure projects to provide better outcomes for clients and keeps abreast of industry wide issues and developments. Danny has assisted in the development and implementation of the Pre-Manufactured Value (PMV) estimator and strategy at Cast.
Daryl is an Associate Director working in the strategic advisory team. He is a Chartered Civil Engineer, holds an MBA from Warwick Business School and has more than 12 years’ experience within construction spanning both contracting and consulting including providing strategic advice to organisations in the sector. Daryl is passionate about combining his detailed understanding of project delivery with the bigger strategic picture to find and deliver meaningful better value for clients. He is particularly enthusiastic about the opportunities to deliver better outcomes by supporting the adoption of modern methods of construction. Daryl supports several initiatives across Cast including pre-manufactured value, ESG, knowledge management, digitalisation and social value.
David is a Director in the Cost Management Team. He has over 35 years of experience and has worked in a range of sectors including Residential, Retail, Leisure, Hotels and Commercial Offices. David’s skill has evolved around an innovative approach to problem-solving and anticipating clients’ needs on projects. He is a strong and experienced practitioner, well versed in providing Procurement, Delivery and Contract Strategy advice on some of the most complex projects both in the UK and Internationally.
David is a Senior Cost Consultant. He previously worked in Investment Management before making the move into the construction industry. David has experience in both the procurement and delivery of multiple large scale public sector transport & infrastructure projects. As well as commercial experience, David has also been responsible for asset management and building condition surveying. Despite being new to the residential sector, David’s previous experience and forensic approach help him recognise both commercial and construction risk for the benefit of the clients and project teams he is working with. David has a strongly motivated approach towards his personal and professional development and is currently working toward his professional RICS qualifications.
Dave is a Director in our project management and due diligence team. Dave is experienced in multiple sectors having worked across residential, higher education and R&D sectors delivering major schemes including two Stirling Prize-nominated projects and has worked client-side as part of that. Dave’s emphasis is on building high performing teams and relationship management to deliver successful outcomes. Dave’s client background enables key insights into client organisations and decision making and he brings that understanding to benefit every project. Dave enjoys nothing better than getting involved in solving complex problems be they commercial, procurement, programming or technical challenges and has demonstrated this value on multiple projects. One of the key areas of Dave’s interest is to lead the challenge of working with clients, designers, and the construction supply chain to deliver solutions to build better and meet the challenges of achieving net-zero carbon.
Declan is an Associate Director within the Cost Management team. Declan’s main experience relates to Later Living and Build to Rent residential tenures and he is well versed in the commercial management of all elements of a project lifecycle. Declan’s key skills are collaborating as part of a team to drive value and to achieve a successful outcome. A Chartered Surveyor with over 10 years of experience working on both the contracting and consultancy side of the Industry, Declan uses skills and knowledge to drive better value for the Clients he works with. Declan’s key interests revolve around the adoption of innovation within the industry and the use of a systematic and applied approach to drive better project outcomes. Declan is a key member of our Knowledge Champion initiative. He is also a trained RICS Assessor and has mentored numerous candidates on their professional studies and qualification journeys.
Elliot is a Senior Project Manager. Elliot undertook a Geography degree and then a conversion degree. Prior to joining Cast in 2021 he spent 5 years managing several challenging education new build and refurbishment projects across the country for a major consultancy. Elliot oversaw these projects from conception and brief development through procurement and planning to construction and ultimately handover. During this time Elliot has a track record of building strong relationships with clients and key stakeholders by delivering exceptional outcomes. Elliot has an interest in automation and robotics in the construction industry and he completed his university master’s thesis into this area of study and received multiple awards for it. Elliot is also passionate about climate change and sustainability and keen to contribute towards the Net Carbon Zero agenda at Cast and the industry more generally.
Fabio is an Assistant Cost Consultant. He is a Quantity Surveying and Commercial Management graduate and is currently working across a range of Build to Rent and Later Living projects. As part of his degree dissertation, Fabio analysed the barriers preventing the uptake of modular construction in the UK’s affordable housing sector. He enjoys collaborating and working with a wide range of industry professionals and has a keen interest in sustainable infrastructure. Fabio’s current focus is on his APC journey and working towards achieving his professional qualification
George is a Cost Consultant. He has more than 8 years experience providing cost management services predominately in the private residential sector including high end, later living and build to rent sectors. He also has experience delivering projects within the sport and leisure sector and in managing projects post contract focusing on minimising project overspends to ensure on budget delivery. George is passionate about the residential sector and the later living sector in particular and is excited to continue to further his skill set in the MMC market helping clients understand the benefits of PMV in positively impacting the future of the construction industry.
George is an Assistant Project Manager. He has a focus on increasing construction productivity and improving the sector’s sustainability credentials. George is working on some of our biggest and most complex residential developments, playing a key role in facilitating technical delivery by the project teams of sustainable, high performing designs as well as contributing to the production of key advisory reports to our clients. George graduated in Civil and Structural Engineering from the University of Sheffield where, as part of his studies, he developed a design for high performance volume housing incorporating MMC. George is progressing his skills in project management with an ambition to become an expert in the integration of MMC in the residential sector. He also has an interest in utilising Blockchain distributed ledger technology in the construction industry.
Image is an Assistant MEPH Cost Consultant. He has been involved in projects across different sectors including commercial, education, and residential. He is interested in the integration of MMC solutions into the MEPH element of buildings and in utilising PMV benchmarking on projects to find opportunities to drive change in traditional practices. Image is involved in working with our MEPH benchmarking knowledge champion to develop project data including key cost metrics and to keep it current to reflect the rapid development in regulations and the adoption of innovation as we strive to achieve carbon neutrality. Image is working towards his professional qualification to become a Chartered Surveyor.
James is an Associate Director within the Cost Management team. He has over 13 years of experience in a variety of sectors including residential, retail, heritage, hotels and commercial offices and has worked on projects both in the UK and internationally. Through his experience on complex, challenging and high profile schemes, James has learnt the importance of collaborative working in teams to work towards common goals and ultimately deliver successful projects for clients. He is passionate about proactive cost & commercial management, working with clients and partners to procure and deliver construction from conception through to completion.
James is an Associate Director. He has several years experience of the cost and commercial management a wide range of large scale commercial and residential projects. Over the last few years James has specialised in Later Living and Student accommodation projects with experience of working with clients at early stages to align brand standards and client budgets as well as with supporting the set up of a strategic contractor alliance framework. James is passionate about data analytics contributing to the development of our benchmarking, data and measurement tools and is always keen to use these tools to enhance project insights. James is also working on Cast business initiatives on Net Zero Carbon and is the Cast Façade Knowledge Champion.
James is an Associate Director with 10 years cost management experience in Residential, Leisure, Retail and Civil Engineering sectors. James’s diverse experience and ability to work using various forms of procurement and contracts provides him with a strong skill set in effective post-contract change management and negotiation. His experience dealing with complex construction claims enables him to identify and mitigate common project issues at an early stage to give projects the best chance of success. Following recent involvement on a large scale estate regeneration project in east London he is particularly interested in delivering good quality affordable housing that offers opportunities to local young people in the construction industry. James is part of Cast’s digitalisation working group and is helping to identify new digital tools to improve our service offering.
James is an Associate Director. He has worked as a project manager in the construction industry for over ten years and has experience delivering a wide range of residential and commercial projects for a range of clients. James has developed an in-depth knowledge of project management processes from project inception through to delivery and handover of large scale residential projects. He is also involved in Cast’s knowledge champion agenda and the development of our specialist service delivery tools.
Jamie is a Senior Project Manager. A qualified Architect with over 10 years’ experience working in both consulting and contracting roles across a range of residential and commercial schemes, he specialises in detailed design coordination, team management and on-site delivery management. He uses his technical and professional knowledge to provide efficient and considered solutions for clients through the early review and integration of complex details within schemes. Jamie has a passion for encouraging collaborative working environments and always looks to bring the best out from project teams by maintaining an open and honest dialogue. His specialist designer expertise is also being utilised to review Cast’s early design management protocols and identifying how we can better enable Design for Manufacture & Assembly thinking on our projects which in turn drives higher pre-manufactured value and better product optimisation.
Jeff is a Director and has responsibility for leading our strategic advisory services. Jeff has more than 10 years’ experience of working client-side across a range of strategy, policy and delivery focussed roles. Before joining Cast he initiated and led a successful local authority housing delivery service, winning several awards for innovative projects such as ground-breaking use of MMC and delivering projects that enabled residents to design and commission their own homes. Jeff’s focus at Cast is on enabling our clients to make sense of a rapidly evolving construction sector, delivering innovation, sustainable growth and better outcomes. His clients include regional and local government bodies, leading collaborations of Councils and Housing Associations, institutional funders, and some of the largest and most innovative MMC suppliers in the UK and beyond. By working with all aspects of the value chain in this way, Jeff is able to drive collaboration at scale and ensure our clients benefit from an industry-wide perspective on market trends and opportunities. Alongside his day to day role at Cast, Jeff maintains his support for social-purpose residential organisations he has supported throughout his career. This includes for example the recently launched Proxy Address initiative, an award-winning digital solution designed to minimise social exclusion among homeless people.
Jennifer is a Senior Project Manager. With over 10 years’ experience in the construction industry working in consultancy and for clients, she has a robust record of delivery on a wide range of residential and commercial projects. Jennifer has successfully managed and led schemes for a variety of clients in both the private and public sectors spanning all residential tenures and including major master planned urban regeneration with estate wide public realm and infrastructure such as District Heating and Envac waste management systems. With climate change becoming increasingly important, she is developing a keen interest in innovative and sustainable construction and is seeking to play a role in helping the construction industry move forward collectively. Jennifer has embraced Cast’s forward-thinking approach to MMC and is working as part of our knowledge champions agenda to develop a PMV measuring toolkit that can be integrated into future projects.
Jensen is an Assistant Cost Consultant. He is currently studying for a degree in Quantity Surveying and Commercial Management. Alongside progressing towards his qualifications he is also keen to expand his skills and experience in the working environment. Jensen is working on a variety of Build to Rent and Affordable Living schemes where he is carrying out a multitude of tasks across both pre and post contract stages. He is particularly interested in the implementation of both MMC and PMV and how they can be implemented on various projects and how the use of them can help to drive more environmentally friendly, efficient and assured outcomes for clients. Jensen is also an expert in the use of Cast’s own in-house digital measurement tool.
John is a Cost Consultant. He has worked on both commercial and residential developments with his primary focus being that of the recently introduced later living model. With exposure to a variety of construction projects throughout his career, John is able to call on his experiences to overcome obstacles that may occur during a project. He has extensive involvement in procurement, tender analysis & change control and has developed the capability to promptly identify and mitigate risk at the earliest possible stage. John enjoys fostering working relationships with his clients and ensuring that they get the best value for money on their projects. John is looking to further his knowledge on how best to apply standardisation & MMC in his projects to optimise results for his clients. To achieve these outcomes, he enjoys reading about the various pioneers and leaders within the construction industry.
John-Paul is a Senior Cost Consultant. He has over 10 years’ experience working across multiple sectors including in the residential market. John-Paul has an interest in benchmarking and data analysis and is also very passionate about the evolution of the construction industry, taking a keen interest in innovation and new technologies as well as changes in standards and regulations. He is particularly focused on the construction industry’s response to decarbonisation and sustainability targets and has been undertaking analysis to understanding the commercial impacts of meeting Passivhaus accreditation and the Future Homes Standard.
Joe is an Assistant Cost Consultant. He is following a degree apprenticeship route towards qualification and is keen to build his experience and skills in the work environment. Joe is working on various build to rent and later living schemes expanding his understanding of the construction industry and furthering his technical abilities in cost management. He has taken an interest in the various automated measurement tools that are used by the Cast team, understanding that continuous development with these tools will allow for more efficiently delivered and accurate outcomes for the client. Joe is also looking forward to learning more about MMC and PMV, to see how they are implemented on projects helping towards achieving better and more environmentally friendly outcomes.
Himmang is a Assistant Project Manager. He has experience within a wide range of sectors from education to infrastructure and residential. His background in Architecture has given him an advantage in project management through his deep understanding of the RIBA stages and technical construction detail. This allows him to deliver focused management to projects by understanding time-scale and cost without compromising on design principles of the scheme. Currently he is developing his knowledge in modern methods of construction and the circular economy, understanding their development and integration into the industry whilst supporting the management of various high profile residential schemes across the business.
Klajdi is an Assistant Cost Consultant with over 5 years of experience working in the supply chain, for both specialist trade contractors and main contractors as well as in consultancy. He has been involved in various high end residential schemes spanning affordable living, student accommodation and build to rent projects. Klajdi has gained hands on experience in cost management, value engineering, change control, tender processes as well as valuable exposure to the various stages and stakeholders involved in construction projects. He is passionate about achieving best value and outcomes for clients by providing proactive support and advice. Klajdi is excited to be involved in the real world use of MMC applications on his projects and the concept of increasing and measuring PMV.
Lee is an Associate Director in the Cost Management team. He has over 15 years’ experience, primarily working as a cost manager with developer clients, and more recently building a deeper understanding of the industry through working in developer and operator companies as a project and development manager and also as a Facilities Director. Lee’s varied experience in client organisations enables him to apply a strategic approach considering a wide range of outcomes, and also applying a keen attention to detail and knowledge to drive successful outcomes in projects and the operations beyond. One of Lee’s keen areas of interest is to work collaboratively to problem solve and set up systems and processes to drive better and more efficient outcomes for clients. Lee is currently developing a decision making framework for data capture and application on MMC led schemes.
Luke is a Cost Consultant. He has worked predominantly in the residential sector on both private development and housing association led schemes but also has delivered in the arts, heritage and culture sectors. He has extensive experience in procurement, value optimisation, change control and tender analysis and has built his capability to help promptly identify and mitigate risk at the earliest possible stage. Luke is passionate about achieving value for money for clients and perseveres to overcome financial constraints on projects to ensure they are successful. Luke’s is interested in developing his knowledge and understanding of how MMC and PMV can be implemented into his projects in order to drive positive outcomes. To help achieve this Luke is participating in Cast’s data analysis workstream which is correlating PMV to our project outcomes.
Martyn is a Senior Cost Consultant. He has over fifty years of experience in the construction industry, both in contracting and on the client-side, and there are few areas of construction that he has not been involved in or touched on over the years, in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management or Project Management capacity. His most recent experience has been in rail projects and commercial/residential projects. Martyn enjoys the fact that because his career has such a time span, there are always developments, changes and updates to what went before, so there is always something new to learn or a new specialization to get involved with. Prior to retirement and un-retirement, Martyn was active as an RICS Assessor and Counsellor.
Michael is a Director and is also the lead for Cast’s Pre-Manufactured Value (PMV) programme with a focus on expanding the use of PMV across the construction industry. Michael is an expert in cost management and procurement strategies, applying his expertise to establish innovative procurement routes including collaborative alliance frameworks. His experience of both Later Living and Build to Rent sectors helps ensure client drivers and budget are aligned with the latest sector requirements and key design metrics. Michael is keen to promote the benefits of PMV at both project and industry level with the ambition to inspire others in the sector to adopt pre-manufactured processes. He wants to see the industry benefit from the use of PMV including improved cost and programme certainty, reduced waste and improved health and safety. Michael has played a leading role in deploying the industry’s first online PMV estimating tool and further defining the PMV calculation through the accompanying technical manual.
Melina is a Senior Project Manager. She has more than 15 years of experience on projects across a variety of sectors including build to rent, private for sale, later living, assisted living, education buildings and heritage assets. Melina has managed projects from inception and planning through to completion working predominantly for residential developers over the last 5 years delivering projects profitability and to timely completion. She strongly believes the key to delivering successful projects is strong relationships and transparent communication, building teams that have the ability to drive resolution of challenging problems. Melina is actively involved in promoting women in property & construction encouraging diversity within the industry. She has a particular interest in modern methods of construction and low & zero carbon products, encouraging their development and integration into the industry.
Michelle is a Director specialising in project management and strategic consultancy. Michelle has worked with a diverse range of clients including Housing Associations, Local Authorities and Private Developers, owning delivery responsibility of commissions through all stages of the development process including initial project brief setting, site acquisition, master planning, planning viability and the raising of equity & debt financing. Michelle has a keen interest in reinventing procurement processes to better suit project needs moving away from a standard ‘one size fits all’ approach. Michelle often speaks at external events covering subjects including MMC, innovative procurement and viability. Michelle has developed a deep specialism within the Build to Rent sector and is the author of Cast’s report, ‘The Rental Space Race’. Michelle also initiated Cast’s strategic research function, supporting Mark Farmer in the preparation of the 2016 independent review of the UK’s construction labour market, commissioned by the UK Government, entitled ‘Modernise or Die’ and a published research paper for NHBC on Modern Methods of Construction. Michelle is a qualified accountant.
Nate is an Engineering Services Cost Consultant with over 19 years’ experience in the construction industry. Nate has delivered a variety of complex developments including Major Residential Developments, Mixed-used Projects, Retail, Aviation / Airport Infrastructure, Underground Metro Rail, Hotels, Commercial & Offices, Sports Venues, Data Centres, Church/Museum and Laboratories Prior to joining Cast, Nate worked in various large consultancies where he gained valuable insights into working on international, complex and major infrastructure developments. Nate is a passionate cost manager as well as dual qualified as a Mechanical Engineer which provides a practical layer of expertise to his technical and commercial experience.
Nick is a Cost Consultant. He has successfully completed his degree apprenticeship whilst working at Cast and has over 8 years’ experience in the construction industry having started his career as a draughtsperson working for Architectural & Structural fabrication firms. Nick’s works as part of a team delivering specialist later living developments. As someone with background experience in use of CAD, Nick hopes to utilise these skills to help aid and promote the use of technology within the industry. He is particularly interested in the use of big data and its application through more organised workflows. At present Nick’s focus is on completing his apprenticeship to obtain his professional qualification. To help achieve this he actively participates in Cast’s learning forum sessions and assists in the Knowledge Champion initiative.
Nick is an Associate Director in the Project Management team. He leads delivery across a portfolio of Build to Rent projects. Nick is a qualified architect with extensive experience working across a range of residential and mixed-use regeneration projects across London, including build-to-rent, affordable housing and later living schemes. Nick’s passion is to respond to the challenges of our time to create enduring new pieces of the city: he brings a focus on design, placemaking and resident experience to his projects to create brilliant places and to create value for his clients. Nick was the lead author on Cast’s report for the NHBC on the adoption of MMC by a variety of home builders to respond to the challenges of modernisation. Nick is also a Non-Executive Director and Trustee of the Yard Theatre, advising on the development of a new theatre in Hackney.
Patrick is a Cost Consultant. He has succesfully completed his degree apprenticeship whilst working at Cast, helping deliver various residential projects across a range of values. Patrick is particularly interested in how the construction industry will adapt to the pressure for greener homes and looks forward to learning more about MMC and how it will support the Government’s decarbonisation ambitions through to 2050. Patrick is excited to be involved at the heart of Cast’s service delivery tools and industry initiatives, and to see how these will greatly benefit the residential market.
Rachel is a Senior Project Manager. She has experience managing large, complex Build-to-Rent and super-prime residential projects from design through to completion. Rachel has managed multi-disciplinary project teams, helping them to adapt to changing project requirements throughout the lifecycle to make sure the client’s objectives and the project value is achieved. She focuses on supporting the whole project team and maintaining good relationships and communication, with a people-first approach, to build strong teams able to effectively respond to the challenges brought by complicated projects. Rachel is interested in understanding how innovation and strategic planning can help improve the efficiency of the construction industry and deliver better homes. Building on her knowledge of project delivery and quality management, she is working with our Advisory team to support our clients in determining how to achieve the best quality and value on their projects.
Rajen is a Finance Assistant with over 25 years of management accounting experience, Rajen has worked in various sectors including media, he has over 14 years of experience in the property investment sector and managing property investment portfolios. Rajen has a proven track of developing and implementing accounting and financial systems, processes, and controls.
Rob is an Associate Director in the cost management team He has 7 years experience primarly working in the residential market having been involved in the development of over 3,000 student beds, 600 market sale units, 750 Build to Rent units and 250 Affordable Homes. Core areas of interest include DfMA, MMC, PMV and sustainable forms of construction within the residential sector. Rob has worked on large scale modular student accommodation projects, a large scale PassivHaus Project, and is focussed on methods for reducing embodied carbon. He has cemented the importance of these approaches within the industry and has a personal ambition to drive change on future projects. Rob developed the Cast strategic brief template for constructing purpose built student accommodation projects including key project metrics, areas of focus, developing trends, risks & opportunities. He is Knowledge Champion at Cast for Basement Box Construction and has developed propositions for PassivHaus and concrete embodied carbon cost reporting.
Ronnie is a Cost Consultant. He is currently pursuing his degree studies whilst also working on a portfolio of Build to Rent projects. Ronnie is interested in MMC and this is being reinforced by examples of Categories 5 and 6 MMC being used on his projects. He is looking forward to sharing his knowledge and experiences and to actively promoting the benefits of MMC on future schemes. Ronnie also works closely with Cast’s internal team developing our automated measurement software and has used his practical application and feedback to help guide final functionality.
Ruanne is a Senior Project Manager. She has 7 years’ consultancy and client-side experience working on a range of residential and large-scale regeneration projects with a particular focus on affordable housing. Ruanne has built an in depth experience of pre-construction delivery stages, from feasibility, planning through to construction contract award. She has a keen interest in regeneration and ESG directives, striving for better places for people to live. Ruanne enjoys assisting clients to deliver complex large-scale projects, navigating sensitive viability issues whilst helping to deliver high quality housing across all tenures.
Ryan is an Associate Director. He has over 15 years’ experience of providing cost management services predominately in the residential sector. Ryan’s key areas of focus have been working on large scale private for sale, Build to Rent and purpose built student accommodation projects. Ryan is passionate about achieving value for money for clients and strives to overcome financial constraints on all projects to ensure they are considered a success. Another key area of interest for Ryan is calculating Premanufactured Value (PMV) of projects and design solutions and understanding what MMC can be appropriately introduced to positively impact outcomes. Ryan also plays a key role as part of the Cast benchmarking initiative and is involved in capturing, analysing and interpreting data within the database.
Sean is an Assistant Project Manager. He has a specific focus on MMC and Construction Integration. Sean has worked on a number of projects utilising various MMC categories in both the residential and purpose-built student accommodation sectors. Sean has also contributed to the production of key strategic MMC reports for some of Cast’s regional government clients. Sean is currently studying an MSc in Construction Economics and Management at UCL and is looking to develop his project management and construction integration knowledge on an interesting portfolio of projects alongside his studies and ultimately wants to become an expert in the MMC market. Sean is also actively involved in Cast’s business technology initiatives.
Sébastien is a Senior Project Manager. He has 8 years of experience working both as a client and a consultant project manager in France. Sébastien is well versed in the residential sector and in particular the later living market and brings that experience to his clients here at Cast. He is motivated by a desire to continuously improve how the role of the Project Manager can deliver better results for clients, through application of process and knowledge. Sébastien is also driven by delivering the highest quality buildings and places which will be enjoyed by occupants as well as leaving a positive legacy for future communities.
Shaun is a Senior Cost Consultant. He has worked predominantly in the residential sector on both large build to rent and later living projects. Shaun has gained invaluable experience in cost planning, value engineering, change control, tender processes and tender analysis as well as gaining deep insights into the residential sector. He is passionate about achieving the best value and outcome for clients and strives to overcome constraints on all projects to ensure they are considered a success. Shaun is excited to be involved in gaining further experience in the use of MMC and is actively pursuing incorporating his knowledge and experience into the current live and future projects he is working on.
Snow is an Associate Director. She has more than 10 years’ experience in the construction industry with particular expertise in high-end residential and hospitality sectors. Snow is well versed in providing project management services from acquisition through briefing, planning, design, procurement, construction and handover and helped many clients on aftercare and implementation of their developments. Snow enjoys problem solving and developing a joint team vision to some complicated design and planning challenges. She is also actively getting involved within the Woman in Construction forum to widen the diversity of the industry. Snow is a bi-lingual project manager and has worked with many international investors developing projects in the UK.
Stuart is an Associate Director within the Project Management team. He is a chartered construction manager and project manager with over 30 years’ experience, covering both contracting and consultancy. Stuart has worked across the globe and has a wealth of experience managing large scale projects and programmes. Stuart has an interest in construction contracts and is an accredited NEC 3 and 4 project manager. He is delivering projects ranging from small site infill programmes to major regeneration projects with a specialisation in the later living sector as well as in contract administration activities. He has historically been involved in developing contract delivery tools and in the production of good practice project management process documentation. Stuart is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Building as well as a Member of the Institute of Royal Engineers.. He is also a member of the Professional Engagement & Advisory Forum at UCEM Reading.
Ted is a trainee MEPH Cost Consultant. He is specifically interested in learning about the design and installation processes related to engineering services and wants to use practical understanding and application of knowledge to become a confident and knowledgeable consultant. He is currently attending university in 2021 as a pathway to professional qualification. Ted is already an active part of Cast’s knowledge champion initiative and has contributed to business wide information sharing on the processes and standards for engineering services in the RICS’s New Rules of Measurement (NRM).
Thomas is a Project Manager with a broad range of multi-sector experience spanning education, commercial, hotel & leisure and residential projects. He enjoys working closely with clients to gain an in-depth understanding of their needs and priorities and takes a proactive approach to managing stakeholders. Thomas takes a particular interest in the sequencing and associated logistics of works and also in improving the environmental impact of projects wherever possible. He is building his understanding of how the implementation of MMC on projects can help to achieve this. Thomas is a member of the APM and is working towards Chartered Surveyor status.
Thomas is a Senior Project Manager. He has a broad range of experience, ranging from secondments into Client’s delivery teams, acting in a Development Management capacity, as well as core Project Management and Employers Agent services. Thomas enjoys getting to understand Clients’ key drivers and business case objectives. He is interested in the financial management of projects and ensuring the client’s business and development objectives are met. Thomas is keen to develop a deeper understanding of the early project stages, including project viability assessment and appraisal through to pre-planning and planning application submission to assist with this process. Thomas also enjoys understanding the working of construction contracts and how they apportion risks between parties. Thomas is a member of the RICS. Thomas assists with the Cast Knowledge Champion Role for Employers Agent services.
Tom is an Associate Director in the Project Management team. Tom has over 15 years of experience in the project management of complex construction projects spanning Education, Higher Education, Arts and Culture, Student Accommodation and Later Living projects. He has also managed a variety of client development management models including negotiated Forward Fund / Forward Purchase Development Agreements. Tom has personally delivered RIBA award-winning projects. Tom is an outcome-focused project manager who can operate at both a strategic and project implementation level. Tom is passionate about Later Living design and creating fantastic homes and amenity spaces.
Vicki is a Senior Cost Consultant. She has significant experience across a variety of sectors including commercial, retail, academic and residential projects. She enjoys working with a wide variety of people involved in construction projects and collaborating to solve problems and challenges to arrive at a successful conclusion for clients.
