Urbanest Vauxhall is a 454-room development built for student accommodation in Vauxhall Nine Elms Battersea. The building itself is the first brick-clad building in the UK over 90m tall and has a host of stylish communal facilities suited to student-style living.

The building is a single block of G+31 storeys providing stunning views over the Battersea regeneration area, the student flats are supported with staff rooms, reception meeting rooms, an amenity lounge at level 1 and at rooftop (including an enclosed terrace). Construction started in May 2016 and completed in July 2018. The core was slipped, with the floors built around, standardised bathroom pods were deployed for efficiency and the building wrapped in a unitised façade system.

454 bed purpose-built student accommodation development in Vauxhall, South London. Project designed by Glenn Howells Architects for Urbanest. Cast’s role on the project was as the Commercial Managers. The project comprises 454 student beds providing a mix of non-ensuite, en-suite and studio rooms as well as circa 500m2 of amenity space. The project is located on a constrained site adjacent to major railway lines and comprises of 32 stories with unitised brick cladding. Our role included the negotiation of a robust contract commitment including negotiating final contract sum, aligning Employers Requirements and Contractor’s Proposals and supporting value engineering to achieve budget compliance. Cast were also responsible for managing the commercials on the project post contract. The project was finished in August 2018 on budget and to programme.
