Cast Consultancy was engaged by the Kimpton Fitzroy London to provide early-stage cost planning services for the re-purposing and refurbishment of the hotel’s upper levels. This ambitious project looks to transform the 8th and 9th floors into luxurious high-spec suites, meeting rooms, and a bar area, while preserving the hotel’s iconic Chateau de Madrid allure. The proposed fit-out embraces Art Deco influences, incorporating strong patterns, bold shapes, and elegant detailing to enhance the historic grandeur of this landmark property in London’s Russell Square.
The refurbishment will include a complete strip-out and renewal of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) systems, with strategic relocation of plant equipment to free up the roof for a new relaxation terrace. Minimal structural alterations are prioritised, except for a new staircase linking the 9th floor to the rooftop, ensuring the project balances luxury upgrades with cost efficiency and heritage sensitivity.
