The Smith's Gardens site is on the edge of Birmingham City Centre, previously occupied by a manufacturing business. The development includes 5 buildings from 8 to 26 storeys along with 6 townhouses.
The apartment buildings are being constructed using an Insitu concrete transfer deck and slipform cores, with 1100+ Cat 1 Modules installed around the cores. A combination of brick and metal clad façade is applied to the external face of the modules.
Contracts were agreed with the chosen Contractor in June 2023 after a 12 month PCSA period.
The Contractor, who is designing and manufacturing the Cat 1 Volumetric Modules in parallel with delivering the onsite works, commenced works on site in August 2023 whilst Module manufacturing began in November 2023.
Goodstone have set ambitious ESG Targets for the developments, including exceeding the requirements of Part L 2021, energy monitoring with personalised feedback to residents and commitments to local jobs and living wage.
