An increasing proportion of the population now live into old age in the UK, yet there is a shortage of suitable housing to meet these needs. Organisations, such as the Housing Learning and Improvement Network, are highlighting the need for policy makers to factor in this growing demographic in the UK as a part of their housing and development strategy, whilst also encouraging developers to design more suitable assets based on the living needs of the older generation.
